Marriott Khao Lak restaurant prices

Hi, we are staying at the Marriott late july this year, and as there wont be many restaurants open outside, was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on the food and drink prices in the hotel. Thanks.

FRom friends who stayed there in April, they are not cheap but there will be plenty of restaurants open in Bang Niang (10 minutes by taxi/shuttle) or Bang La On (15 minutes).

Actually the prices are not unreasonable. Dinner would be anywhere between 500-1200 per person, depending on which restaurant you go to. Compared to going into town it is expensive but not if compared to an evening out in the West.

But the Marriot does have a shutlle to/from Bang Niang and Bang La On so it will be easy enough for you to go elsewhere for a meal.

You can get some decent wine locally in the Nang Thong Supermarket in Bang Niang about 10-15 minutes away. We drank an Aussie Sauvignon Blanc at 480 baht a bottle that went well with fish, seafood and spicy food. You can also get 2 litre bottles of South African wine and decant it into smaller bottle to make it last longer for about 550 baht, red or white. Taking your own wine into local restaurants and hotel rooms is generally fine but not sure whether the JWM would allow it in their restaurants, where the wine was very pricey there when we went for the international buffet which then was 1800++ per head.
