Hi Jo,

We spent 8 days at Khao Lak in August 2009. Weather was generally good, we had rain showers on 2 of the 8 days, which cleared within an hour. The weather was never a limiting factor in anything we wanted to do.

All the 7/11 supermarkets across Khao Lak and larger supermarket at Bang La On were open. Other daily local markets are open and worth a look, especially for local fresh fruit. Plenty of resturants open, however we did find most of the beach resturants closed or even non-existent.(See photo's posted by Arandora on this forum).

Not having experienced these, as we have only been to KL in low season we didn't miss them. KL is fantastic in low season, we were surprised how quiet it actually is, but still plenty of options to dine and plenty of sunny weather.

Will be back August this year.

Enjoy, tanmar
