Apsaras resort photos/info

Fellow Khao Lak worshipers,

Does anyone have any photos of the Apsaras resort which have been taken in the past few months. Better still is there anyone who has visited or stayed there.

There are very limited tripadvisor reports on this hotel and the few that there are don’t give a very positive report.

We have booked this hotel for the beginning of April but I am now getting worried that we will be let down by an unfinished and poorly operated resort.

Also are there any shops, restaurants or other business on the road leading up to the hotel towards the Palm Galleria.

Any info good or bad most welcome

Hi Glassol,

See external photos from the beach in the Pakarang Album at tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g297914-i10908-k25… taken a few weeks ago.

The Asparas certainly looks finished now and you will see from the photos taken when the tide was out it is situated on the widest part of Pakarang Beach. The South Sea Resort next to it is not quite finsished but the building works there should not intrude on the Asparas. There are two or three beach restaurants immediately adjacent to the Asparas and more near the Palm Galleria as well as a small mininmart.

There are plenty of massage places and frinks huts on the beach there too.

The beach here really has recovered after the Tsunami but be careful when walking it when the tide is in or wading into it at the Cape end near the Toklaburi and the fishing boats as there lots of shells and rocks of various sizes.

If you walk south along the beach you go over onto Khuk Khak Beach and you come to two excellent litle beach restaurants next to each other. The first is Ma-Ma's (Greeting) and the next confusingly and not related is MaMa (Mr.Lek).

Walk across the Cape onto Pak Weeb Beach and about 400 metres down is the excellent Boatyard.

For more varied choice in the evening, there is a god local restaurant overlooking a lagoon about 400 metres before you reach the highway, another one just to the right and on the oppisite side of the highway then just past there is the Very local, Very simple but Very Good "Lung Long's" - no sign just a few boxes at the front containinf his fish and seafood and a few tables and chairs inside. Best fish we have had so far in Khao Lak.

Beyond that it's a further taxi ride into first Bang Niang then Bang La On where there are many restaurants, bars and shops.
