Trip report part 2

Hello all

Thanks for the replies,

Back to our Similan island trip we ended up paying 4100 Baht for us both which was good as the hotel wanted 6400 with no negotiation. The operator was called Ruk Talay we were picked up from our hotel at 7.30 after a 20 minuite drive we arrived at Pakarang beach where we were given our snorkelling gear & a sea sickness pill(which was not needed by the way)The two speed boats were in excellent condition & very fast, the guide on our boat was a french chap called Lo,he was very good as were the rest of the crew. After snorkelling & swimming at the islands we had lunch,(which we were not looking forward to after previous trips)it was excellent, chicken, whole fish, curry, stirfried veg & rice we were very surprised, the snorkelling was brilliant, the beaches were stunning,a really good day all round. All told we had a great time in K.L.Then it was time to leave our taxi to phuket was 1200 Baht which turned up bang on time as usual, but we were held up for 25 mins at a check point where the police tried to get money off our driver but he didnt give in to them,or at least thats what he told us.Good bye for now & happy & safe travels.Gav & Michelle.

Hi Gav,

That Similans trip sounds great, particularly being picked up from Pakarang instead of going to the pier at Tab Lamu. The price also is very good. Where did you book?

Hello Arandora

We booked at a travel agent called Key travel(might have been Key Inter travel)in Bang Niang there is a pancake stall outside his shop. There was two speed boats that left, ours had about 30 people on board but it was a huge boat, the other one was smaller & prob about 15 on board.

Cheers

Gav

Thanks Gav,

Seems to be a different outfit to the one Mr. J used. Same, same but different. :)
