Hi Gareth,

We drove past The Sarojin in October to go to one of the restaurants next door. As far as we could see, there was no construction nearby. There are a few houses being built alongside the road down from higheay 4, but these well away from The Sarojin.

Hi Gareth

Hubby came back three weeks ago he has said that in the area between the Boatyard rest and the Sarojin there was some big diggers in the area doing some excavation work and they were working all day and even when it was going dark.He did not enquire what this work was but was told by the Boatyard rest that there is to be a new hotel/resort which should be completed for the next high season which will be inbetween the Sarojin and Boatyard. He will be back there in two weeks time so will take a look.

I remember now reading MrJenson's excellent JBR. I had an image in my mind of the development being south of the Boatyard, but by the sound of this, its next door to The Sarojin. Must drive past again myself in a few weeks, as things keep changing too fast for me, clearly!

Hi

The Boatyard are looking forward to this development when it happens as then they might be able to open in the evening instead of closing shop at 19.00hrs. The problem is lack of light at the moment and people do not want to walk in the dark down the beach or along the track to it.

Gareth,

On researching this topic I found a thread on a German forum, including photographs.

Hope this helps.

Hi Gareth,

I first stayed at The Sarojin just after it opened. We had a great time. The restaurants next door are also excellent. There is a free shuttle bus at regular times during the day, but make sure to book a space as it's very popular. I used Systran to translate the German forum and came to the conclusion that there was minimal noise and that the site was relatively screened with the existing trees.

Anyway, have a great time and give my best wishes to Nok in the restaurant and Tik on reception.

Have a great time.

Gareth,

The construction adjacent to the Sarojin is in the early stages so when you are there you should suffer little, if any, disturbance. It's a pity but inevitable I suppose that this wonderful stretch of beach should be developed but development control is not one of the Thais greatest strengths. :(

It is next door to the Sarojin. Cuurently, they are working on multiple beach bungalows and the cinder block walls are up. I did not hear any earth moving equipment.
