Pancakes & Tiger Prawns

Hi,

There are two things you must try when in Khao Lak.

1. The freshly made Pancakes, bananna, mango, nutella, honey........ lots of yummy selections. They are made in front of you in a scooter cart & taste great. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

2. Tiger Prawns. Try them just BBQ'd with the special sauce, they just melt in the mouth. not cheap but very good quality, cost about $35Aus for 4 prawns. The good thing is my man does not eat seafood, so mine all mine !!

One thing NOT to try.

There is was a cart selling yummy smelling meat on a stick. We asked if they were chicken, yes was the reply, we bit into them, mouth full of little bones ?? What the?? No chicken I know have that many small bones in them, we did notice a lot of the cat had no tails ..................

Hi Elissamac,

Good news re the pancakes. I was only wondering last night if there would be a pancake man in Kho Lak.

Think i'll stay clear of the meat on a stick man.lol.

You lot are spoiled in Oz! A GIANT prawn is about 2" long over here. Tiger prawns, if we ever get 'em, are imported, of course, usually from Thailand, not a lot bigger and cost an arm and a leg! Mind you, in KL they are still an indulgence compared to normally priced local meals.:)

I ordered 6 tiger prawns as an entre in Phuket a couple of trips back, along with a main.

When the guy showed me the size of the tiger prawns , I changed my order to 3 tiger prawns & no main. Streamed tiger prawns with garlic & ginger..very nice. CJ
