No Access from Le Meridien through Similana at high tide

Hi

My hubby had his walking legs on today to see if you can still cut through the Similana Resort when it is a high tide so you can access the other restaurants by the Sarojin. You can no longer take this route there are construction signs there and the path you used to take is barricaded to stop access. He saw and heard no signs of any work though.

This is a shame as it will slim down the options at the LM if you have a high tide. He had a job getting to the Rim Lay last night as the past few days the tide has been higher than usual and it was up to his knees in parts. The Rim Lay have started making a new path in the undergrowth for guests.

We will have to plan our walks down from White Sand Beach to the Rim Lay carefully or we may end up stranded by the tide and have to pass time eating their super food and cold beer until we can get back! What a chore!!! LOL

I got back from a stay at the Sarojin at the end of October and while we were there the similana was closed. A local guy told us it's been bought by a russian developer who was flattening the place and rebuilding it. Like you said there is no access and no trespassing signs everywhere!

I don't think a Russian developer unless it has been sold on. It was bought by the prestigious Four Seasons Group and with the Sarojin and Le Meridien would make this the "Platinum Coast" of Khao Lak. The Sofitel on Khuk Khak, which is not far away, was sold on to a Turkish/Russian outfit, Rixos, and is just going through its officioal opening stage.
