Beach Restaurants

Something is confusing me a little. When describing how to find the restaurants situated on Pakweeb and Bangsak beaches, do the directions referred to apply to when you're on the beach or on the road? I imagine the beach. If we're driving to these places I presume we go along highway 4 and turn off left towards the beach. Are there any indications/signs to these places, or do we follow signs to the hotel closest and then walk along the beach? But I can't believe there's no vehicular access to these places.

If we want to walk from Khuk Khak beach to the Boatyard - what is the distance? Thanks.

Hello Liccylaccy,

The directions i have given for the restaurants in previous posts are for people staying on Pakwwep from the beach.

Driving for the restaurants at Bangsak promenade you turn left of Highway 4 about 6 mins drive after the Le Meridien . I can not remember what the sign post said could have been Bangsak but it is near the Haadson resort and you drive straight to the restaurants and promenade it is a good road.

For the Boatyard rest coming from Khao Lak you turn left off highway 4 at the sign for the Sarojin after 1.5 miles you will come to a sharp right bend continue along the concrete road.

I do not know about walking from Khuk Khak.

Julie

Follow the sign for the Haadson Resort on the left about 5 minutes after Le Meridien to get to Bang Sak Promenade. Follow the sign on the left to the Sarojin about 5 minutes before Le Meridien. Go dwn until the road forks. Turn right at the sign for and then at a fork bear right for the Sarojin and Aow Thaong (white Sand) Beach and the restaurants there, bear left for the Boatyard.

If you continue past the first turn off for the Sarojin you will come to a new group of resorts on Pakarang Beach and turning left at the end, Cape Pakarang where the views across Pakweeb Beach and Bang Sak Bay are fabulous.

You could walk all along from Khuk Khak Beach to Pakarang Beach then cut across the Cape onto Pakweeb Beach - but it is a long trek and if the tide is on Pakweeb it's pretty hairy getting to the Boatyard which would be the first restaurant you would reach. You will need to be really intrepid beach walkers to walk all the way to Bang Sak Promenade! :))

Thanks, but Arandora I think you have omitted a word in the 4th line of your 1st para. Turn right at the sign for ..... (where?) and then ....

Thanks for the tips about the tide and distances. I think we will save our beach walking in that direction for early morning with no particular destination in mind. Are we likely to encounter any problems if we go along the beach from Khuk Khak to Bang Niang? A cup of coffee would be nice before our return. About 3kms, is that right?

Just read your comments Arandora about "Pong Canal". Looks like we'll need a tide table - but if we got trapped we could always pop into the Cousins and spend the day with you - if you didn't feel like company you'd be obliged to drop us home. :) (I think that's called manipulation).

Hi Liccylaccy,

It's a quiz! Missing words on a postcard to.....

Sorry, it should be turn at the sign for the Sarojin.

Your welcome to call in at the Cousin anytime but I aint giving anyone a piggyback across the Pong anymore!! We'll probably meet you going in the opposite direction.
