White water rafting & elephant trekking?

Hi guys,

I was thinking of what activites to do in Khao lak. Is there a place where we can go white water rafting and do the elephant trekking as well? How much do they usually cost?

What else is teehre to do in Khao Lak? Any recommendations?

Thanks

You can do both elephant trekking and rafting at Khao Son National Park, which is about an hour north of Khao Lak. However, it depends what time of year you are going as the water might not be very "white" - a lazy raft ride in the Dry Season (November - April) is more likely to be white water in the Wet Season (May - October).

There are other elephant rides in and around Khao Lak, the best IMO being at Saurung Waterfall.

Have a look here for some ideas for tours from Khao Lak www.khaolaklanddiscovery.com/bookings.php

Snorkeling and diviung at the nearby Similan and Surin Islands is recommended during the Dry Season, sea too rough in the Wet Season.
