When we visited the Briza and neighbour Emerals in February, most of the work was nearly complete. Both hotels were full at the time.

See photos of the Briza at

The Briza is situated on Khao Lak South Beach, which is about 10-15 minutes by taxi from the main centre of Khap Lak at Bang La On where most of the restaurants, shops and bars are situated. I understand that there is only Jo's Seafood Restaurant near the Briza which is open.

The Ramada (see photos at http://photos.orange.co.uk/album/share.html?c_album=5335443) and its neighbour, La Flora are situated on Bang Niang Beach where nearby and up the road to the highway a number of restaurants have remained open. See map of Banmg Niang at tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g297914-i10908-k18…

Bang Niang is less than 10 minutes by taxi from Bang Niang and is walkable but I wouldn't walk from the Briza as it is a long windy road over the mountain.

Thanks Arandora,

The Briza looks new, nice and airy, but Ramada sure has great reviews on TA. We plan to drive up from Phuket, so getting about should not be an issue. So looks like Briza may get our vote, the beach stretch seems a lot quieter. ALthough the weather in June may not exactly be ideal for beach activities huh?

Are you able to recommend which rooms to book? Thinking of the Deluxe beachfront Villa.

But they dont have a spa do they.... hhhmmmmm

Sorry, didn't have a look around the rooms.

Yes, it's a beautiful bay and beach and will be a bit quieter than Bang Niang.
