Guesthouses

Looking for a recommended Guest house in Khao Lak. Never been to the area and want to explore for a couple of days.

All we need is somewhere clean, close to the beach and access to a pool.

Any suggestions?

Wendy

Thanks Arandora,

We are looking at 4 days sometime in the first week of November.

I was looking around the 2000 baht to 3000 price. Do you know much about Sanuk bungalows?

Hi Wendy,

That is a decent budget for a bungalow or guesthouse but I would book early as accommodation starts to book up pretty quickly from November onwards.

We stayed last Jan to March at the Cousin Bungalow Resort which is two roads back from the beach at Bang Niang. The Sanuk bungalows are two roads further back. It is a vgery small resort at the far end of the road with just a small plunge pool. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach and to the resorts and restaurants along it. A bit further to the road up from the beach where other restaurants and shops are located.

If you are looking for a small resort (have a look at the Cousin at http://www.cousinresort.com/index.html) the Sita Garden resort is an excellent resort of very nice bungalows directly on the beach, nearer to restaurants, bars etc. but doesn't have a pool - just the beautiful ocean right in front of it!
