Ramada Khao Lak - Kids Club?

Can anyone tell me if the Ramada Khao Lak has a kids' club? I read a post from August 2007 where it was mentioned that a room was being painted for a kids area? Just wondering if anyone can update me?

We are planning a trip at Christmas and are shocked by the price at Le Meridien. Ramada is much more reasonable and gets good reviews. Just wondering if it is a family friendly place? We have 2 sons - aged 6 and 8 in December.

I would Email the Ramada and ask them. The Ramada is not a very big hotel but has consistently good reviews. We had a good look around last year and were very impressed. There were plenty of children about at the time but I didn't see a kid's club. See photos at http://photos.orange.co.uk/album/5335443

The beach there is very nice and there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Hi there.

I am wondering whether you or anyone else has stayed at the Ramada.

We are trying to decide between Khao Lak or Kata Beach for the second week of our holiday. We are spending the first week at Mai Khao beach, which is quite isolated, so we are keen to be somewere where we can walk to beach restaurants, etc.

We have two very young children - 4 and 1, and also wondered about the child's facilities at the Ramada.

Appreciate any assistance/comments.

Many thanks

Although we've not stayed at the Ramada we stay not far away and know it and the area very well. It is located on the widest and, probably, from a family point of view, the best part of Bang Niang Beach - very popular with families.

There are many restaurants within easy walking distance both on and overlooking the beach and on the surrounding roads up to the highway.

We had 2 weeks on Karon Beach in the early 1990s and find Bang Niang somewhat reminiscent of there.

The Ramada has a children's pool and according to it's website a Kids' Club.

We went to Kata Beach 18 months ago and we found no comparison to Khao Lak. It is very commercialised and touristy (unless of course that is what you want). I imagine it is pretty good for kids, it has lots of beach games and millions of beach beds with no good beach walks, loads of shops and bars and caffs.
