We are travelling to Khao Lak late March/early April. Do we need to book tours in advance or can we book when we arrive?
What would be the must do tours?
How long are you staying in KL? If for more than a few days, you should be ok booking while you are there. But are you there over the Easter period (Easter Sunday 23rd March) when it gets busy? There are plenty of tour operators but most offer same/similar tours, Similan Islands, Surin Islands, Khao Sok National Park. Have a look here for a selection http://www.khaolaklanddiscovery.com/
If you intended to go further afield a do the wonderful John Gray Hongs by Starlight tour ( johngray-seacanoe.com/thailand/hong-by-starl… ) which goes from Phuket (pick up in KL can be arranged) then I would definitely book in advance.
Thanks for the info. We will be staying for 7 nights and it will be over easter, so thanks for the advise I hadn't thought about the fact that we will be there during a busier time. Does everything stay open over easter?
Oh Yes. Threre may be some celebrations in hotels, Easter eggs for kids for instance but otherwise business as usual.
