The Centara is a couple of hundred metres from the centre of the Nang Thong area. Plenty of eating places. The markets are in the Bang Niang area about 2 miles north. The local taxis have a fixed price to take you there.

You will see your hotel and local area on this map/

I stayed in the off-peak season. If you walk up through the resort you end up just outside Maccas, You could also get someone to drive you up in the golf buggy if you're feeling lazy.

Plenty of restaurants about

There's taxis and songthaews up and down the streets.

The Navy Turtle Sanctuary was good for a short trip.

Enjoy, and watch out for the slippery tiles in the large pool area.

You are in a great spot for all the restaurants. Make sure you go to Everyday2, fantastic restaurant and not dear; Walkers Inn, great Thai and Western food and brilliant if you want to watch a sporting match, run and owned by an English fellow and his wife and DeeDees for extremely cheap and great food. Go to the nearby supermarket to stock your fridge with alcohol, drinks and snacks. Also the Nang Thong Bay and Nang Thong 2 Resort restaurants are close with great and inexpensive restaurants overlooking the beach. For a special get a taxi to the Boatyard restaurant at, I think White Sands Beach. They have sun loungers on the beach, have a drink and watch the sunset or stay for the whole day then have dinner. Beautiful but not expensive either.

The Boatyard is at Coconut Beach. White Beach has eating places and is 400m further up. Also try Memories beach. Great beach and food. Great for sunsets. All on the map

We stayed there last March. Great location, probs it's biggest plus point. The hotel is a good mid range option. Looks a little tired in places but generally ok. We had an issue with the bottom pool being closed, they didn't have a clue how to rectify it - it was vastly over chlorinated turning hair and. Clothes a funny colour. Staff were generally helpful and friendly. Nikki and sam on the beach being especially good. We stayed in the accommodation closest to the beach
