Hello,

We are looking to visit Khao Lak can you please tell me if you can jump on and off the long tail boats here to some of the visit islands. Also are you able to use Tuk Tuk and Songthaews to travel around the area. We have been to Ao Nang and by using the above we managed to get to some of the sites without cost much as did it ourselves .

We were looking at staying at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, any idea how far away this is from Khao Lak town?

Any advise or info would be great .

Thank you !

The main islands visited from Khao Lak are the Similans and the Surins which are too far for longtail boats. There are tours by speedboat only to these.

Songthaews are main form of local travel or regular taxis. Only a few tuk tuks. The JWM is about 15 minutes or so from the centre of Bang La On, the main town with Bang Niang, where the local markets are about 5 minutes nearer.
