Replacement for Smile Khao Lak Restaurant

The new owners of the former No.1 restaurant in Khao Lak, Smile Khao Lak, has just opened the doors. of DDD Cafe. Familiar furnishings but different menu serving Thai and European food.

Look forward to reviews in due course.

How confusing!  First we had Dee Seafood, then D Dee Coffee House at Bang La On.  Now there's DDD Cafe.

Does the letter "D" have some significance to the Thai people or is the new restaurant trying to feed off the reputation of these well established businesses with similar names?

They are friends of the former owners of the Smile restaurant who had a few others allegedly trading off their name and they tell me that D means "good" to Thai people so DDD = "very good"

It looks like it's a real estate office to me? Surely there can be no replacement in any case.
