You did not say when you are going, but I would suggest Khao Lak is on balance quiet, you can find some loud /live music bars, not many, but easier to find bars /resturants that are quiet, particularly, if you stay away from the roads (can not comment on your hotel). At least that was my experiece in Nov 2016. have nice honeymoon, sounds like you have selected an ideal location.

I don't know about the Haven but any music in hotels in Khao Lak is usually a local singer/guitarist doing a one hour early evening slot not bands or loud music into the early hours of the morning. As for local restaurants there are a number in easy walking distance down the beach road just past the Orchid Beach Resort.

We are going in February.

Read about an area where there is music in the bars.We like to walk in the evenings.Just difficult knowing the right areas to find a good mix.

Don't particularly want total seclusion. But on the other hand loud music not really for us.Hubby to be plays in a band.Any hotel recommendations appreciated

Many thanks

Read this to find out what and where the evening entertainment takes place in Khao Lak https:/…Evening.Entertainment.html

The article is a little out of date but unfortunately TA doesn't allow Travellers Articles to be outdated but whilst a couple of music bars have closed both in Bang La On the main town (look for beach hotels on Nang Thomg and Sunset Beaches) and Bang Niang (just 10 minutes up the highway by taxi with resorts on Babng Nian Beach) the main ones are still open and more restaurants with a live singer have opened in both areas to take their place. The Haven is only 10-15 minutes by taxi or shuttle from these areas.

From your Hubby to be's point of view the best bars with a band are the Happy Snapper in Bang La On where it is Open Mic night every Wednesday and he is welcome to get up on stage and join in) and the Degree Bar in Bang Niang which is a resident Thai Band playing only Thai Rock, Reggae and Pop but he might appreciate the musicianship and you will both enjoy the enthusiastic participation of the largely local Thai customers, Next door is Lazy House Bar where owner Gap sings and accompanies himself very ably on guitar with 60s, 70s and 80s mainly international rock and pop with some Thai favourites. Again hubby is welcome to join him on stage.

You can see all the Beach Resorts on the various KL beaches at thebeachfrontclub.com/beach-hotels/… Booking.com features them all and is a good place to start to search for your dates and price and it has maps showing their locations. Hotel.com and Sawasdee.com are also good.

Thats brilliant and so appreciated.Id read the entertainment post but difficult to know how far hotels are from various bars.

Definately dwindled it down to Sensimar I think. As ticks most of the boxes. It all sounds so perfect.

Thank you so much Julie
