Khao lak in May with young child - few questions please

We are planning a holiday in early May with a 3 yr old child. After reading the forum I still have a few questions please:

What day tour do you think would be best to bring a 3yr old along - I was thinking the Khao sok lake tour might be suitable? The other tour previously suggested in the forum was Koh Tachai (which is closed?) Any other suggestions please?

Takua pa old town has their markets on Sunday afternoon. Will they still be operational in May?

Any other ideas or thoughts would be great appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Trips on Cheow Lan Lake, Khao Sok, are on a longtail boat and usually involve going out to a floating rafthouse for lunch and kayaking or swimming in the lake, so not entirely suitable or safe for a 3 year old.

Koh Tachai is closed indefinitely to day tours and tours to the Similan and Surin Islands are stopped from 15th May to 15th October every year for safety reasons.

Takua Pa Old Town Market usually closes at the end of April.

You could take your child to see the baby turtles at the Turtle Sanctuary on the Royal Navy base at Tab Lamu. It's only 15 minutes by local taxi from centre of Khao Lak. Or the larger Marine Life Sanctuary about 30 minutes away at Thai Muang.

Possibly Cheow Lan lake although it is a very long day and when on the floating restaurant you will have to be extremely vigilant. If taking any day trips where water is involved I would take your own life jacket for the little one. Boats rarely have any small enough.

Being totally honest, the full day trips are exhausting for adults let alone toddlers. There is often little shade, long bus/boat travel times which aren't great for young kids and nowhere for them to rest if they need to. If they are miserable, it could be a very long day for not only yourselves but fellow travelers.
