Internet for Skype phone interview at 2am?? Please advise!

Hi all

Is there any place on Lombok where I'll have strong enough internet for an interview using Skype (no video) I've an iPad and the time of the interview will be about 2am there so Internet cafes aren't an option. Any hotels perhaps?

Hi, This is Scott, owner of Qunci Villas.

Most of the hotels along Mangsit Beach have good enough internet connections for a skype call, especially without video.

That being said, 2 things:

1. Let the hotel know in advance so that they have someone on call if there is a problem, At Qunci, where we have a bandwidth of 5G, winds can still knock out a router that connects you so you would have to move from your room to another space in the hotel or have someone come and re-start that particular router (I think we have 23 routers on property to cover all rooms and areas).

2. Notwithstanding good hotel service, sometimes the whole internet service goes down. Irrespective of the hotels service provider, there is one trunk line between Lombok and Bali which is controlled ("owned") by Telkom, the national telephone company.

Occasionally this line/service goes down affecting the entire island.

Good Luck with your call.

Most Hotels down in Kuta also have good enough wifi for skype. But same goes let the owner know you have an interview so they can have someone reset the modem if required.
