Some of the local sight seeing is easy to do on foot. For others like Kempty Falls you can hire a taxi.

If you are staying anywhere on Mall road and physically active, you can cover most of the places on foot.

1. Camel's back road - Good for morning walk or evening strolls, it's approx 1.5 km stretch of back side of mall road only. No need to take cab.

2. Company garden - You can take cycle rickshaw from Library chowk, but won't recommend unless you have time to spare for a over-hyped garden and a not-so-good wax museum. If you have kids, can think of going there.

3. Gun Hill - The ropeway which takes you on top of Gun Hill is at Mall road only. Opposite to the ropeway near aquarium you will find a path to hike all the way up to Gun Hill. Hike is recommended over ropeway as you won't find much on top except some games, eateries, view of valley and some photo ops. At least hike will pump some blood :)

In fact places like Happy Valley, Char Dukan can be covered on foot. We are a couple covered Happy Valley on foot, while people were stuck in traffic jam to Kempty falls.

Some places would require cab like Kempty falls, Cloud's end and George Everest house (to a point). You can keep a day for covering walkable places and hire a cab for another day. But it depends on your duration of stay, camel's back is worth every morning
