My wife and I took the most marvelous trip to Rajasthan with TGS Tours in November of 2017
Here's some feedback about our great trip.
I’m still so moved by the trip and so far every day still finds me thinking back to many, many special moments of the visit. This trip definitely has affected my worldview. India is a wonderful, amazing country that everyone should visit!
Nikhil, the trip itself was wonderful as well. You know, you never know how things will be until the trip is finished and, looking back over the time in India, everything went so smoothly.
With your help, our choices of hotels was great. The only one we didn’t care for too much was the ITC in Agra. The staff were pushing to us to write good things about them on Trip Advisor. A bit annoying. Other than that one, all the hotels were fantastic.
The guides were all had different backgrounds yet were equally knowledgeable and helpful at every step of our trip. This made each city very interesting. Each came from a different point of view and aspect. They ALL knew their cities and the history very well. We didn’t want so just SEE India we wanted to EXPERIENCE it! And the guides you choose were very good.
Pushkar Camel fair: This was a highlight for me. I wanted to go to this fair for about 30 years! Finally made it. Very crowded though and yet the crowd always moved at a slow, measured pace. We stayed at the Westin and although new and with a few rough edges, they were very professional and willing to help at all times.
The drivers we had were safe, very steady and confident. We felt very safe with him the whole time.
Udaipur. The Leela Palace is a super hotel. The hotel cultural performance there was very good. City Fort was wonderful.
Then on to the Fort and Jain temple. We had a VERY long drive that day and stopped overnight at Ranakpur.
So, the Rawla Narlia is VERY recommended! The Step Well dinner was totally magical! Every guest MUST do that! That was by far a highlight of the whole trip! All those candles and the Holy Man was mesmerizing! We were so moved by his singing! We recorded him singing and love to listen to it! That was such a great experience!
Then off to the Ajit Bhawan in Jodhpur. Our guide really passed on his wisdom and knowledge about his city. The villages were great too. We got some rugs and the people in the villages were very polite and kind. Very impressive.
Jaisalmer was also magical! The architecture was unbelievable. Maybe not so many people go out there since it’s so far west but WELL worth it! We really liked the city and the intricate stone carving on all the buildings. A real highlight.
Then on to Jaipur. What a marvelous city! We know why you love it there so much! The Observatory was very interesting. The Rambagh Palace was the best hotel and we loved it. So professionally run. If you have a chance to meet the Assistant Restaurant Manager, Anand Tiwari, please do! He was excellent.
Then off to Agra. The Fort and Taj Mahal were as wonderful as I am sure everyone says. We went is the morning but not too early and had no crowd at all.
The flight to Amritsar was smooth and John our guide took us to the border. That was fun! Such wonderful patriotism!
In the evening our visit to the Golden temple to see the holy book being moved back to the Temple was very moving. The place is SO clean and the new pedestrian zone around the Golden Temple made walking there a pleasure. No motorcycles, Tuk tuks, and very clean as well.
Back to Delhi and did not realize there was so much to see.
All in all it was a great trip! And TGS made it so! Thanks so much Nikil for everything! TGS is THE BEST company to arrange for any trip in Rajasthan!
