Golden Temple timings

We'll be visiting the Golden Temple in Amritsar in October. I understand there is a morning and evening ceremony. I am wondering what the timings of the ceremonies are and if a visitor can see very much during the ceremony.

Also, what time does the Attari/Wagah Border ceremony take place?

The morning ceremony (Palki Sawari) is around 4.30 am and the evening one (Samapti) is around 9.30 pm. Devotees start queuing up atleast an hour before the actual time of the ceremonies. Check this link for details:

In the winters the ceremony usually starts at around 4.30 (changes according to sunset timings, so its best to check with your hotel before proceeding). You should prepare to get here atleast 45 minutes in advance to secure a seat.

Is the Golden Temple open daily for visitors? And are the morning and evening ceremonies daily?

Is the Attari/Wagah Border ceremony daily?

Thanks in advance.

Yes both sites are open on all days. The timing of the ceremony may change by an hour or so because of different timings of sunset and sunrise in summer and winter months.

The wagah border is about half an hours drive, the cermony starts at 5.30pm sharp dont know if the timmings change for the winter it lasts 30 minutes. Also try and see jalan wala bagh it is very near to the golden temple it is nice place in amongest all the hustle and bustle, also it will be very crowded in amritsar cause it is the 300th aniversery of the guru gaddi,if you dont mind crowds you should be ok, have fun
