14 Day Itinerary Help

We need an itinerary that will take us from Hyderabad to Trivandrum over 14 days. We have a budget of around $250/ day for us as a couple inclusive of sights, driver, hotel and food.

We would like the focus to be on pretty and exotic scenery and elephants. We want to avoid cities, and I think in terms of temples we would be interested in anywhere at the level of interest of Hampi, but I don't think architecture would be the main point of the visit.

We want to definitely have a private driver and car and avoid public transportation but we are happy to rent houseboats etc. Infact alternative modes of transportation that are reasonably private are a definite plus.

I have been to the kochin/periyar area in Kerala before so would like to spend a bit less time there and more time in southern karnataka and perhaps northern kerala.

Can anyone share their itineraries or give us some advice.

Hi...

I don't have much idea on Andhra Pradesh. Hence, my suggestion would be from Bangalore. IMO, you may reach Bangalore by train or flight or AC Volvo buses or a cab. From Bangalore, you might start your journey as below.

Options to consider near Bangalore would be Somnathpur Temple, Srirangapattana etc, Mysore.

Bangalore - Mysore - Madikeri (Coorg) - Nagarhole - Bandipur - Mudumalai - Kabini (All the four are in one cluster) - Wayanad - Calicut - Guruvayoor (Elephant Camp) - Athirapally Water Falls - Cochin - Alleppey - Trivandrum

You may also extend your trip upto Mangalore, in case you are interested. The choice of the wildlife activities also would rest on you and if you can choose something specific, we can work on fine tuning this plan.

I suggest you may post in the Hyderabad or Andhra Pradesh forums on "things to do" between Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Feel free to revert for any clarifications,

Regards

Prasanna

Bangalore - Green Hotel, Mysore - Hoysala village, Belur - Coorg - Ayisha manzil, Thalassery - Coconut island, Trichur and fly out of Kochi.

Check out this route. This may suite your interests well. And in Trichur, you could "Spend a day with elephant". etc.
