Manali - Dalhousie in 4th week of March

Our plan is as follows:

Reaching Manali on 24th March early morning for 3 nights, checking out on 27th noon (can leave early too) to proceed for Dalhousie by cab and reach Dalhousie at night. Queries are following:

1. I prefer to visit Mcleodganj on the way for few hours on the way just to visit Dalai Lama temple and the market. Is that feasible? How much a cab will charge for this trip (Manali-Mcleodganj-Dalhousie)?

2. Is night journey by cab safe between Mcleodganj and Dalhousie?

3. Is there any other important place I can cover on the way?

4. Can you suggest 2 days itinary in Dalhousie? Considering we are reaching by 27th night, having 28th and 29th days in hand (we have to catch the train at 29th night from Pathankot to Delhi).

You should start from Manali by 7 a.m., so that, by 2.30 p.m. you'll reach Dharamsala. Dalailama Monastery is in Upper Dharamsala and the market is also nearby.

Leave from Dharamsala by 5 p.m. you'll be at Dalhousie by 10 p.m.

Hiring charge of an Innova (or similar) for this journey would cost around Rs.7500.

Day1 - Local sightseeing and Kalatop. Proceed to Khajjiar. O/N at Khajjiar.

Day2 - Khajjiar- day at leisure.

Day3 - Transfer to Pathankote.
