What can I tell you?

It's a great hotel.

Great locacation, central for everything.

Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Rooms are very good.

When we ate there, it was very good.

The tailors on site are excellent, if you have a picture or a favourite item of clothing, they will copy it.

Say hello to Fatima from Pauline, she is lovely, and to Natashsa, her boss.

The manager is Mario.

We called into say hello to them all at Christmas...couldnt believe they remembered us.

There are taxi's available from out side the hotel, but We always use the same taxi.

(0091)9822689657 .if you ring him, he will be waiting for you.

We didnt go on tours..he took us.

Allspice restaurant in Arpora is definitely worth going to,

Mapsa market, didnt find it as touristy as Anjuna, it is used by the locals.so cheaper.

Though Anjuna is worth a visit, for the experience.

Ingo's night market, very good. Not just a market, a night out too. live music and bars, loads of stalls serving all types of food.

Mango house...UK founded childrens charity.Definitely worth a visit.

Sergio knows all these places.

You could spend a day in the south...about an hour away...really lovely. We went to Majorda beach. The Mishmar shck was great. Carmillo , Marla and staff are very welcoming.

And Ashvem beach...quieter beach in the north.

Caravella is a really good fun night out on the casino boat.

Contact Sergio, he will help you. He's a lovely fella, a good driver and has an aircon car ,which will be very nice ,especially in April.

Have a fab holiday all of you.

Glad to be of help

We stayed at the Phoenix Park in Feb/ March 2005. Though it is a lovely hotel, do venture out. You will miss so much otherwise.

Christmas and new year was our third trip to Goa in 2 years.

We plan to go again for Christmas and new year this year.

You will have an excellent time.

We loved Wagamama shack on Candolim beach. When you get to the top of beach rd, turn right Claudines will be on your left.

If you go..please tell Lewis we said Hello.

We had our best new years eve ever there with him.

If you want any leather jackets made or want any leather bags, go to Leather touch.

When you come out of the Phoenix, you go to the top of the lane, that brings you onto the main road. Turn left. It is a few shops down.

Rambo is the owner...that's right..tell him we said hello...lol.

No, I'm not on commission. These are places I have used and can confidently recommend to you.

The Elephant shop is a couple of shops away from the Leather touch.

They can help you with almost everything and anything.

Money exchange, internet, unblocking your mobile, groceries, medicine..very knowledgable and helpful people.

Pack light, as you will want to buy so much, then will incur charges on your return flight.

Have printed out your replies so that we don't forget anything, and we will be out and about a lot so I hope we will be able to say hello to your friends.

We have booked an upgrade which will also allow 30kg of luggage each and will take your advice and pack light as well(this time we really will)

there's a first time for every thing???.

Every thing about Goa sounds great, this could

be the first trip there of many.

Thanks again for all your advice.

Four of our friends returned on Monday .

First time to Goa, staying at the phoenix.

They had nothing but praise for the hotel.

They all had clothes made there and delighted with them.

They fell in love with Goa,

The people are genuinely lovely.

Already they are looking into booking for next year.

For first timers, the journey from the airport may be an eye opener.

It isn't clean or pretty.

Dont let it put you off or upset you. Look beyond it.

Relax and enjoy your holiday.

You have nothing to worry about.

I guess people who havent been to many other hotels in Goa will rate the Phoenix Park as being good, but it didnt meet the standards I set.

Most rooms views are horrible. Rooms need painted and no view from the balcony and unable to sit in due to bird droppings. Hotel toilet at main reception not kept clean and one day completed flooded, pretty disgusting.

Plus points - hotel is in a great location, staff are very nice and they had some good theme nights at the hotel.

Dont bother emailing for a specific room number cos they will completely ignore your request.

I had a fantastic holiday because I love Goa, the hotel was OK, but I would never return to it again.

Phoenix park is great and good location. Everyone was really friendly and staff very helpful. They work so hard to make your holiday memorable. I definately want to go back to Goa and would stay at Phoenix Park again just because I know its clean etc. Of all the other holiday makers we met out there, our hotel seemed to be the best.

Have a good time!

P.S For a lovely meal out, try 'After Eight' (Candolim/Calungute border) Just jump in a taxi from the hotel.

P.P.S Best beach shack is 'Sea N Sand' on Candolim Beach - Simon and Jay are great guys! Always free loungers and not too close to eachother.

Forgot to say....yes the journey from the airport is a bit of an eye opener and at one stage I had wondered what I had let myself in for. Howvever, it doesn't take long to adjust and you soon realise how wonderful Goa is.

Returned from Phoenix on Jan 16th. This hotel is fine, ask for a room ending with 1 or 4 as these are the pool view rooms - we didn't get one and had e-mailed them requesting one but the overspill from Xmas and NY were still there. The balconies are a joke - they are too small to sit out on and usually all the a/c units outside have pigeons nesting in them. The location is spot on but they put a tax on food and drink so we walked up to the bar on the corner - Havelli and started there and usually finished there. We were surprise by the breakfasts - they were lovely, we were expecting bread and jam. Forgot to mention the pool area - we thought it was lovely to sit round but it does tend to get a bit hot. Loved it on the beach as you get a slight breeze.

Flights with FC were brilliant and I didn't see any need to upgrade

Hope this is ok for travellers2; I saw she wanted some more info - anything else just ask. You'll have a wonderful holiday.
