Getting visa in Edinburgh

Hello. Has anyone used the HCI in edinburgh? After reading about the chaos in London and Birmingham, we were thinking of trying Edinburgh. Make a mini break of it. Thanks in advance for any info..

You can now only apply to Edinburgh (and that's in person) if you are resident in Scotland, they will not accept any applications from England. You would be best checking out the agents on the London and Birmingham websites.

Come to Edinburgh for a couple of nights. If you haven't been, it's a beautiful place and well worth a visit (not that I'm biased, or anything!) Indian Consulate is very central, at the West End.Try to get to the Consulate by 0830 (opens at 0930) and closes at 1230 (whether there's anyone still in the queue or not). It opens again at 4pm for collection of visas (get there by 3.30pm) and closes at 5.

Obviously they are not open at the weekend:)

Oops, have just noticed someone saying you have to be a Scottish resident to obtain visa in Edinburgh. That's news to me, I've spoken to lots of English people while queuing over the years....even some Irish.

Must be a new rule....

We have friends who are from Bradford and were having problems getting their visa. so they sent off their application and used our address in Aberdeen for delivery of the visa's. We received them within 10days and sent them down to Bradford. Its a mess and i dont understand the reasoning for it.
