Vaccination for babies

We are planning to visit an Ashram in India with our 13 month old baby. The only thing we are unsure about is the vaccination we should give to our baby. I am a bit worried about giving her such heavy shots and pills. Does anyone have some experience in this matter?

thanks,

tiffan

Hi tiffan,

That is really the sort of question and concern that should be expressed to a person of the medical profession.Everyone on this forum is as helpful as possible with travel matters but you are enquiring about something a little different where specialist knowledge particularily about the baby is required.

i would suggest you visit your doctor as soon as possible and they will advise on this matter as not sure a child of 13 months would beable to take malaria tablets etc,so please seek advice.

Last time I visited India, the malaria tablets had such an adverse effect on me that I had to stop taking them. So regarding a baby I wouldnt take any advise from this forum, only a specialist medical person.

My daughter brought out with her a mossie net that covered the push chair and a collapsible travel cot that was totally enclosed but she used the local repellents and sun cream.

Agree with the others, you need to get the latest medical advise regarding vaccination.
