Birmingham stopping postal visa!

From 10 Sept - see Birmingham Consulate website - Notice Board. Its the same as London. It gives a list of travel agents who, for a fee, will get your visa.!!

Sounds as if they dont want UK tourists any more!!

it seems they are trying to make it as difficult as possible.i have emailed some of the travel agents and are still waiting for a reply.what they should do is issue a 28 day visa with your tickets (price to be included) for those who are travelling for 28 days or less and for long termers they should get them from the consulate.

all probs are then solved.simple.

We sent our postal application yesterday to Birmingham. Hopefully they will process it as there is still time before the deadline. If they don't then we will change our booking and go somewhere else.

If we do get the visas by post we will go to Goa as planned but sadly it will be our last visit as we are not prepared to put up with the hassle.

I wonder if they know ( or care) what an adverse effect all this will undoubtedly have on tourism in Goa?

I think it will definitely put first timers off when they find out what they have to do to get a visa.

Hopefully they will eventually have to go back to postal visas.

Fingers crossed!

i'm off to london end of sept. beginning of oct for

visas for a trip to india in nov,not goa,i usually leave it till

about a week before we leave,i'm confidant every-

thing will be fine, but just in case!!!

the hassle,or not will decide whether we go to goa

in march, its always chaotic there, but if its worse than

usual we might have a rethink.

as i've said before, because of the train fare structure

from ipswich to london,i will not be getting there before

about 10-30/11-00 a m,so we shall see,i'll let people

know how i get on,wish me luck :-)) :-))

Good luck tomtaff, you're brave leaving it so late. I like to make sure I've got my visa before I pay my holiday balance - its less stressful!
