Agonda Beach/Beach Hut Question

As you can see by my lack of posts (#1 haha) I'm currently in the earliest of planning stages for my trip to India.

My plan is to go North (from Delhi) to South.

The idea is after all the more chaotic places like Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi etc is to then chill out and do very little in a more relaxed atmosphere.

I can see why the hippie/party vibe would be an attraction for some but it's not something that interests me

I'll be going just after New Year in January for about 7 days

Three quick questions...

1. Hows the weather that time of year?

2. Is Agonda the more chilled out (no crazy parties!) compared to other places?

3. Beach Huts - Do they need to booked in advance? or can you get one on arrival? Ideally it'd be on the beach front but wouldn't we all! , a bonus but not essential

As I mentioned earlier my main reason is to relax from the hustle of the big cities. From my very limited research it seems like the right place just want to get some better opinions

Agonda is a chilled out place. Beach huts can be booked in advance or you can take a chance and find one when you arrive. ( I always book in advance ) No, crazy parties are NOT a part of Agonda life generally.

Parties around Agonda are

Friday nights Leopard valley

Saturday nights Palolem Silent noise.

If you want beachfront hut it would be better to book in Advance.

Palolem is livelier than Agonda and not very far.

No need to book beach huts , a part from at the main Christmas/New Year holidays. We went to Agonda in January . Just turned up and had loads of choice, good prices too if you can barter. If you want the super luxury ones then perhaps you should book in advance.
