Can anyone recommend a good local restaurant that serves (traditional) Egyptian food?
GAD is awesome... there’s one on Sheraton road and one on Mamsha
Gad is great...also Chef Ramadan.
Another 👍 for GAD from me (as per)
I am on a self imposed ban from Gad.
But honestly there are loads of local eating places just by walking around.
Thank you for the answers.
Anthony, it doesn't have to be near us - any area of Hurghada will be fine as long as they serve "traditional" food.
We tried GAD the last time and we also tried a couple of sandwiches from the place next to the vegetable market in Dahar (their falafel was the best I have ever tasted).
Will check out the one you mentioned Clint.
Personally I don't like Gad restaurant.
There's local flafel restaurant in sakala square behind the police car, another one is the one you mentioned in dahar(next to the vegetable market).
There's also one behind McDonald serve meat, chicken, etc. The food is tasty and cheap compared to other places(summer land) is the name.
The fish market in Dahar?
Grilled on the spot. Also cheap.
We found Summerland behind MacDonalds and the food was very tasty. Especially the pasta soup and the "mashi".
Could maybe use a little scrub in the corners, but aside from that it was a nice place.
I think you meant mahshi 😋😋
