5 days in San Cristobal, what area do you recommend

Hi,

We are a couple traveling to the Galapagos after two months in Lima and Patagonia. We have 5 days in San Cristobal before heading to Isabela. Where would you recommend we stay.

Dear EC,

you'll need to stay in the town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno - where are the services can be found. There are a variety of options, from basic to higher end. It will depend on your budget. There are also AirBnB type accommodations.

Warmest regards,

There are several nice places right along the waterfront. I like where I stayed, but I note it doesn’t have the best reviews lately, but I would stay again. But I also stayed at airbnbs a few blocks inland which can save money and maybe provide a more ‘local’ experience. I enjoyed everywhere I stayed.

We are looking at a few, wondering if everything is close so it doesn't matter? Is the town generally walkable to restaurants and cafe's or all in one area?

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end of town to the other along the seafront.

Yes. Completely walkable, so from that aspect it doesn’t really matter where you pick

Arena Blanca hotel is 10 minutes walk from the waterfront, it has a nice pool and breakfast, maybe that works for you.
