Thanksgiving dinner in AC

Going to AC this Thanksgiving - never had turkey day away from home but trying it this year. Staying at the Borgata. Anyone have any suggestions for dinner? Nothing really expensive , just a nice dinner maybe a little later in the day. Not really kean on a buffet, prefer a sit-down dinner. It doesn't have to be at the Borgota. We would go to one of the other hotels/casinos. Thanks for your help!

Are you looking for traditional Thanksgiving food? Or do you want seafood, steak, etc?

Probably a place that serves the traditonal (for me) and steak etc. for my husband. Not sure what he would chose til the day actually arrives! Is there a place that might serve both that is really good? Thanks.

We are also looking for a place for a traditional dinner. Our friends suggested Carmines (@Trop, I think). Just called and they have a dinner for 8-10: 18 lb. turkey with stuffing, sides (carrots, brussels sprouts, beans, potatoes) and pie for $195. A bit too much food for us (it's only my husband and I and our three children all under 8 years old). I'd love to have any suggestions as well. Thanks!

The Old Waterway Inn might be a good choice if you would like to try a local place?

You can see it here, or by putting “1700 W Riverside Dr, Atlantic City, NJ” in the search bar on Google Maps:

With the satellite view you can see the parking lot if you zoom in.

You can also find it by dragging the map linked below here to Route 30 just a little ways west of where the Borgata is marked. Or, check the “Where to Eat" box on the left for many other choices here:

About 3 or 4 years ago, I had Thanksgiving dinner at the Metropolitan in the Borgata. It was a fixed price ($25 back then) turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I have to admit that it was pretty good. So good in fact, I plan on having it again next month.

I hope they still offer it.

OMG an 18 lb turkey etc etc for $195?! That wouldn't be a doggy bag, you would need a doggy cart!

The Borgata buffet also has a pretty good Thanksgiving selection. I have eaten at both the buffet & the Amphora lounge & both were excellent.

Several years ago my family and I had the Thanksgiving buffet at the Smithville Inn in the historic Towne of Smithville. It was very good, with all of the traditional Thanksgiving foods plus beef and steak as well as salad and pasta stations. We went early and were able to spend some time looking around the shops after dinner, which was nice (they are open, even though it's a holiday).

You can read about Thanksgiving at the Inn here:

Or go directly to their website:

I think the options everyone else mentioned are good choices as well.

'Hope this helps!

Smithville is a wonderful little town only 20 min from AC and the Smithville Inn is really nice. Every who visits AC on a reg basis should take the time to visit at least once.

My wife and I like to go on Sunday mornings and have breakfast at " AJ's on the Lake ", great food at a reasonable price. We were there in October and they just happened to have the NJ Corvette Club show that day, it was heaven for a car guy like me.

The Smithville Inn is beautiful and I imagine they would have a great Thanksgiving dinner.

Thank you all for your responses. I looked up the reviews of the Smithfied Inn on TripAdvisor and it got such mixed reviews. Some were really glowing but others (especially the Thanksgiving ones) were really bad! Hard to know what to do. Seems as if the wait there is exceptionally long on Thanksgiviing and would hate to wait that length of time for even a so-so meal. Hard to decide....thank you all again....
