Train to DC

Plan to visit Atlantic City next spring. I'd like to include a day trip to DC. I hear there is a train one can take from AC to DC. Has anyone taken the train and have any advice or tips for me (best day, time, experience). Thanks!!

They're is no direct train. You would first take a train to Philadelphia, and then change to a train to DC.

Book the www.Amtrak.com trip from Philly to DC at least 2 weeks early to get a discount and travel on Northeast Regional Service not the much more expensive Acela Service. There is no track between DC & Philly where the train can reach Acela's intended speed.

There is a section between New York and Boston that can handle it..

You'll be on www.NJTransit.com from Atlantic City to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. There is a free Jitney shuttle from all of the casinos to and from the Atlantic City Rail Station. They are waiting out in front when trains arrive and pick up at the casinos about 30 minutes before the next scheduled train departure.
