Girls day out

Small group of ladies (age 65) wishing to spend a day of visiting Ann Arbors shops and restaurants. Any suggestions?

Ann Arbor has a lot of choices, but it is hard to point you to specific places without knowing a bit of your interests. There are ample independent shops, art galleries, and restaurants.

The most interesting retail is found along Main St (and a few block either way) and in Kerrytown.

If you'll be in AA during Farmer's Market I'd definitely recommend a stop there because it is artisans along with food. (Saturday all year, Wednesdays during "on" season) or the westside market (Thursdays during the on season though this one has fewer artisans).

For a wonderful taste of Michigan do stop by Cherry Republic on Main and Liberty for free tastes of cherry products. Really good nibbles there!

If you are foodie types I always recommend a trip out to Zingerman's Creamery and Bakeshop, south of town. This is an extension of the famous Zingerman's Deli and they do things like roast coffee and make cheese, baked goods and ice cream.

The original Zingerman's deli is often on people's list of places they want to eat when they visit Ann Arbor.

If you share more about the type of restaurants you're interested in or specific kinds of shopping I'll try to be more specific.

Enjoy your day in Ann Arbor!!
