'Dubai Miracle Garden'

This should be quite interesting. Just hope this does not go the Al Ain Paradise Garden way....

Visited this fantastic garden today. Well worth a visit. Do not go to Dubai and miss it. Need a car to get there. No refreshments yet but plenty of excellent toilets and plans to add restaurants and shops later this year. Easy flat walking and golf buggy available for less abled people. If you like colour and flowers this is a must. Not a lot of shade. Open 09.00-21.00 from October to May. Admission 20 dhs. Check out web site for further details.

Rough guess, 40 minutes from WInchester Grand by taxi - be prepared for the taxi driver to not know where it is if it has only just opened and so take the location details form the Gulf News article with you

It is outside of the city but yes, you could combine it with a trip to Mall of the Emirates, you will still need a taxi to get there though

The location is said to be near Arabian Ranches in Dubailand. Surely once you hit the Emirates Road that side there would be sign posts?

This would be 20-30 mins from Dubai city areas, depending on traffic status.

I've just been, it's absolutely beautiful but definitely not small child friendly. My toddler was followed around by attendants with whistles & every time he went near a flower the whistle was blown at him! He didn't touch or stand on one flower but wasn't allowed near enough to smell them! There are dome grassy banks, he wasn't allowed to climb up them, he was allowed to walk on the lawns but not sit on them... There is no area where youngsters can enjoy the surroundings & we left quite frustrated

Well it is a 'new toy' for the city, so they are being possessive!

I went at the weekend, lots of kids jumping on the flowers so I guess you can understand why the attendants are a bit whistle-happy!

Should be 10 minutes from Mall of the Emirates along Umm Suqeim Road, plenty of signs as you get close, but otherwise, follow road signs for "Arjan". No signs if you're coming along Emirates Road from Sharjah direction, however.

If you're taking a taxi there, keep in mind that you'll need to ask the driver to either hang around, or come back for you as getting one there will be near impossible.

Well worth a visit though, I just hope it doesn't get ruined by Dubai's absentee parenting culture.
