I've finally chosen! But just one last question!

Thanks everyone for all the help over the past few days! I was so puzzled, and finally I've decided what I'm doing! I went with a TA and ended up getting a much better deal!

I have one final decision to make though that I would like everyone's help with!

I have the choice to do a 1 hour or 9ish hour stop over in Dubai overnight! Would it be worthwhile taking the 9 hours and explore the city overnight? Or is it worth it?

Thanks again guys! I'm so happy I made this decision!

Depends on what you mean by overnight i.e. timings.

if it is too late, it will be dark and everything will be closed except bars and clubs up to a certain point.

If you have 9 hours overnight you will be able to see a lot of the city - whilst closed, lots will be lit up so you could see the Marina, Burj al Arab and Burj Khalifa.

There are heaps of 24 hour cafes and restaurants so you can get a meal and a drink.

1 hour for a transfer is a little short in my view for a transfer.

I land in Dubai at midnight. I either get on my next flight to Bali an hour later or 8 hours later.

I have these 2 choices and wondering is it worth it to go into the city this late.

No transfer anywhere should be less than 1 hour IMO.

Dubai is a vibrant cty that runs later into the night than most places. Even to look around at night without going to restaurants, bars, malls, tourist hangouts is still well worth doing - you won't be disappointed. Unless you go to Al Barsha or Tecom.

9 hours, even knocking off 3-4 hours for travel, immigration, etc. still gives you 5 hours in which you can do a lot. Even if you just nip out to Old Dubai and chill around the Creek and get a vibe for Old Dubai rather than 'typical' new Dubai like fountains, Burj, Dubai Mall etc.

An hour would be too tight for me.

Are both of these tickets with the same airline or have you gone for a cheap option of two tickets with only one hour between flights ?

1 hour is too short to transit in Dubai airport and I doubt any airline would allow less than 90 minutes as a minimum . Worse if it is two separate flight tickets with different airlines then you need a minimum stop of 3 hours.

Dubai is the busiest airport in the world and if you go for the 1 hour option you will miss your onward flight
