Eating options close to InterContinental Fiji

This will be our first trip to Fiji. We are excited to be staying at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, but don't wish to eat every meal there (although we have breakfast included).

Are there restaurants/cafes, bakeries or a mini supermarket within walking distance of the property?

We are using a shared shuttle on arrival at Nadi Airport, so won't have the chance to stop and shop on the way to the hotel.

Many thanks.

Hi Dingo_gav - Many guests staying at Intercontinental go to Yatule Resort (next door) for meals. I stayed at Yatule end of last year. Really nice food, cocktails, drinks and much cheaper than Inter. Lovely staff. Situated right on the beach this resort (Yatule) is becoming very popular - in the middle of the two resorts are locals who provide massages, trinkets, stalls and 'local food'. Beside the 'local' area is Natadola Resort - I went there last November, but appeared to be rundown somewhat, no-one around - but they do serve meals also. There are NO shops, supermarkets, bakeries or the likes anywhere near Inter. and Yatule - both resorts are sited well off the main road and a bit isolated. Nearest town is Sigatoka and as I found out costs $60-00 in a local taxi. If at all possible get some snacks, cheese, own alcohol/mixers at the airport or maybe the shuttle will stop at a supermarket along the way, Depends on what time of the day/night you will be travelling. The larger supermarkets tend to close around 8pm. Am not sure but 'think' the Inter. runs a half day trip to Sigatoka few times a week. This could be useful if not too expensive.
