this is the first time I hear of a booking for domestic flights from the continent with Emetebe. Emetebe is a tiny airline based in Galapagos, operating only flights between the three main islands there, using 6-9 passenger planes (I think they have 2 planes...).

If somehow you went through them to book flights to and from the continent, and if you paid them, and if they are now cancelling them, they owe you a full refund obviously.

These small airlines are not run with the same kind of business effiiency you get with the usual large international airlines. I think they have 3 staff outside of the pilots.

As noted above, you have no time to waste trying to resolve this with EMETEBE - secure your flights fom the continent ASAP. Options include LATAM and AVIANCA. If you have a spare moment in the islands, you can go to the EMETEBE office and get a refund.

Thank you both for your replies. We do not have trip insurance - travel quite a bit but not as much internationally on smaller airlines. That helps put it in context just how small Emetebe is. Yes, we booked on their site and the flight from Quito was shorter because it was non-stop, which was worth it given that it was also a little more expensive. (Another advantage is that they promised seamless transfer from Isabela to Baltra and then on to Quito). But I will try to get our tickets booked on LATAM ASAP as we have another family traveling with us also in the same situation with EMETEBE. Hopefully our refund will come through and we will make it there!
