SSI OW certification not accepted - only PADI?

SSI OW certification not accepted - only PADI?

We are going to the Galapagos on holiday next year and via Intrepid/Trailfinders had booked a dive from Santa Cruz to end our tour. However, I have since been told that only PADI is accepted (not sure which dive center as we have not been told) and we have SSI. Surely that is wrong? Both are internationally recognised? Has anyone else been told this.

In 30 years of diving I've never heard of a dive op that only accepts certs from a single agency. Skip Intrepid, which obviously doesn't know what it's talking about, and book directly with a local dive op.
