my receipts/notes from 2023 is as follows.. NOTE 2023.

Bus - 5 USD PP

water taxi 1 USD

Taxi 35 USD

On the bus, i believe you can use card. The water taxi, cash only. Taxi, i used cash. I didnt ask for card since i came with CASH. I know getting USD isnt free for you, but you can get them however you want. Since you will probably go via GYE, you can try using some ATMs there and or trying to get some small USD notes.

If you are going to stay/go there on the islands, do yourself a favor and use CASH for in transit from GPS to Puerto Ayora and or back. There are ATMs too. it was just easier to use cash.

you have an idea on how much things will cost you solo or ? but i would have more 1s and 5s USD notes and then have some 20s and so forth. If you can get some 2$ that maybe good too.

on the water taxi, they will collect the exact change from those that will have it and then will hopefully have enough to give you some change or anyone else.

by the way, i spent about 7 days spit up on 2 of the islands and had brought a bundle (100) 1 USD notes and by the time i was leaving i only had about 12 ones left.

If you want to leave a tip, you can and is where i also used the ones.

I did use my card alot too, but it was in town or at GPS.
