Singapore to Kuala Lumpur?

Hi. How easy is it to get to KL from Singapore? Is public transport (train/coach) quite reliable, quick and cheap?

Thanks in advance.

Flying with Jetstar or Air Asia is cheap if you can book ahead.

KL is a popular destination, and buses are by far the cheapest and most convenient. There ae plenty of buses go there at different times of the day. Make your way to Golden Mile Complex at Beach Road to check things out.

Coach and train are the cheapest, however, if you book well in advance, you can get great prices on budget airlines like AirAsia, Tiger Airways or Firefly. Budget airline fares are often comparable (or even lower) than the first class quality coaches.

I do not recommend the train journey. Train is slower than the bus and IMO, not an interesting journey.

Depends on the chosen mode of transport and how lucky you are with obtaining cheap tickets, although cheapness understanding may vary....................

if price is the consideration, the airport transfers from sing and kl also r to be considered ,wd luggage ,and immigration ques..and also the reporting times -2 hrs for flts.IMO..eventhough flts may cost less or evn same, bus is a more better option..

The flight time is short, but if you add in time spent waiting to board, disembark, immigration and taking transport to KL city, the entire journey by air is pretty much same duration as by bus.

Thank you so much for your help guys.

It seems bus is probably the best option.

Roughly how much would an adult ticket on the bus be (either in HKD or GBP)?

Thanks again.

I think travelling by air will save you 2 hours. You only need to pitch up at Changi 45 min before your flight and best bit is you only have 60 min seat time (coaches don't have w/c's). Imigration is way faster at KLIA than it is at either causeway. The fast KLiA express train is 25min to KL and you don't have the famouse KL traffic jams to contend with.

One way airfare can be as low as £25.

Buses do make a stop or two for toilet break. Mankster is right about flying saving 2 hours, if you take into account checking in for flight, and getting from KLIA to the city. So it's around 6 hours for bus and 4 hours for flight.

Aeroline is really nice bus, it's like business class, very plush seats. I think its SGD 50 one way. Konsortium is a cheaper option at SGD 28 one way. Like Aeroline, they seat 3 in a row instead of 4, so it's definitely more spacious than budget airline seats.
