where to buy traditional jackets

Hello TA,

I wanted to buy the traditional jackets that Malay women wear to work - preferably in cotton and not shiny material. I dont know what it's called - except that I'm not referring to cheongsam. I saw a couple in yue hwa but they only had 1 design and 3 colours and a price of 180$ which i want sure was ok for the top only.

All inputs welcome!

there is no traditional malay women jacket...yue hwa would sell Chinese outfits, so you are probably looking for a chinese style jacket?

Do you mean ethnic blouse? They're called baju kerbaya (figure-hugging), baju kurung (loose-fitting) or nonya kerbaya (Peranakan). The former two can be found at Arab Street/Haji Lane/Geylang Serai; the latter at Joo Chiat/Katong/Paya Lebar.
