If you are coming from Canada or any other country which has reciprocal agreement on entry visa, you need a current passport with at least 6 months before the date of expiry, a return ticket to your country of origin or for an onward journey and sufficient funds to support yourself.

Your passport will be stamped on entry to the Philippines to allow you to stay for up to 21 days.

If you wish to stay for up to 59 days, you must apply for an extension from Bureau of Immigration within the initial 21 days under Sect 9a of the Immigration Law. The cost is P3030.

It may be cheaper if you apply for the 59 day Visa at the Philippine Embassy in your country of residence but you still require at 6 months remaining before your passport expires at the date you enter the Philippines.

Thanks again FSRP01 for the info. Just want to add that also, on arrival at the International Airport, u could ask for 30 days stay and the Philippine Immigration Officer can grant u ur request and even extend it for a longer stay.

That is true but it can take some time to arrange at the port of entry.

Is this recent experience?

It certainly was true, an extra 38 days for usd$50 but it is my understanding that it is no longer possible.

My information was that it needs to be a senior immigration officer who has been specifically authorised to give permission.

Hence it may take some time to get it especially if there is not one on shift!
