Indian rupee acceptance

I am taking my family to Bali (3 people) for 7 days in October.

Is Indian rupee accepted in Bali? Other than that, I see that credit card is not accepted at most of the places. So, how much cash I should keep for daily errands / local travel (the hotels are already pre-booked).

"Is Indian rupee accepted in Bali?" - If you mean for currency exchange then yes but the rate is very poor.

You can not use any currency locally other than IDR.

You are better off exchanging INR at home for US$ or GBP or any major currency that you get a good rate for then changing those in Bali at a reputable Authorised Money Changer like http://www.centralkutabali.com http://www.balibestrate.com and BMC.

Check above for rates against http://www.xe.com to see the "value".

"Daily Cash" depends on what you are going to do and where you are going to eat/drink and exactly where you are staying (including hotel).

A Private Driver for the day costs IDR600k.

As a couple we spend ~ IDR200k for lunch (or less) and IDR350k for dinner. This will include a couple of beers. This is in casual eating places. Casual eating places cash only.

You can use your credit cards in larger shops and restaurants.
