i want to rent a scooty for 6-7 days in bali.
Please suggest the rental company. Also the procedure.
Any advice is welcomed.
Firstly to be covered dry you Travel Insurance you need an International Drivers Permit endorsed for motorbikes issued in you country.
Tim, I have an International Driving Permit.
You can rent a scooter almost anywhere. Will be looking at 50,000IDR to 70,000 IDR per day depending on your negotiating skills and area you are staying.
I use Ameng Bike Hire in Benesari Lane, Kuta.
For an old semi-automatic bike, I pay Rp 25,000 per day for a long hire.
For a new automatic bike, I pay Rp 50,000 per day for a short hire.
Make sure your International Driving Permit is not just for a car but also scooter/motorbike.
Also look at your travel insurance to see if they require you to rent a scooter from a legally registered rental company to be covered.
Nuris Car rental is a good start and they deliver to your accommodation. They have always been very easy to deal with
Hii mam, good morning from.india..i could not get international permit for 2 wheelers they only provided me for 4 wheelers and told me that they have government rule and can not provide IDP for 2 wheelers.then they adviced me to get Driving licence extract to show my validity to any country.
Would that work ?
Is travel insuarance mandatory to hire bike in bali ?
The police in Bali are only interested in seeing a local license or an IDP. endorsed for motorcycles. Without these you will be "fined" about Rp 500,000.
Travel insurance will not cover you if you do not have the correct license or IDP endorsed for motorcycles.
