2 weeks in September

Guys i arrive for 2 weeks in September, have no accommodation booked and wondering whether it's okay to just book it as i go or to arrange now?

Also where would be the best place to start the holiday for sight seeing?

Any tips would be appreciated

September maybe still peak season in Bali .. its better to book first to avoid full rooms and such ..

for sightseeing, of course Ubud !!

Hi Alan,

may sound like a good idea if you want to be flexible but you need to do some research as to what interests you in Bali. Certain sights/activities are best done from certain areas.

YOu won't average much more than 20mph even on longer distances with clear roads. Traffic around Ubud and the major 'southern resorts' can be like the M25 on a Friday afternoon.

e.g. DPS to Ubud is barely 25miles but invariably takes 1h30 during the day.

Also it also depends on whether you are willing to pay for private drivers for transfers and tours or had considered public buses.

Do your research first. Have a general plan, maybe book your first place and go from there.

If you end up wanting a private driver for a transfer or tour or decide you want to go to one of the islands (Gilis or Lembongan) you can book fastboat tickets at tourist booths (haggle for best prices) and can always find local drivers on the streets in place like Ubud and the major 'southern resorts'.
