tianjin to beijing

we are arriving at Tianjin on Friday 16th april and staying at the crowne plaza beijing.

Can any one tell me what is the best way to get to beijing.

We are in our late 50s (3 of us)and as this is our first trip to China we would like a hassle free trip to Beijing.

Can we organise a taxi/limo and have somebody meet us at the exit of the airport. Or get the hotel to arrange it.

What would it cost.

We dont want the hassle of the train.

Thanks guys.

If you are with three persons and luggage, one taxi is not big enough. But you can always take two. There is always a big queue of taxis waiting so you stay close together.

A taxi is not that expensive. round 100rmb per taxi I guess.

You can also ask the hotel (or look at their website) if they have a shuttle service. Also you can look on this forum for drivers / guides. They also arrange a pickup service.

Train is a cheaper option. To get to the main railway station from the airport take the blue shuttle bus leaves every half hour around RMB 10. Or take a taxi. Buy tickets at ticket counter to left of main entrance. Departure platforms 2nd floor.Bullet train leaves every half hour to Beijing South Station and costs around 2nd class RMB 58 and first classMB69 and takes around 35 mins.

I would have said the 'best' way is by train - more 'hassle' to organise a car. Hotels usually charge at least four or five times what you'd pay for a regular taxi. It's about 2 hours drive from Tianjin Airport, so a normal taxi would probably be upwards of 500rmb assuming the driver would be willing to go so far. There might also be a 'one-way surcharge'. Taking the train is very easy and comfortable.
