Planning six day trip to south korea

Family of 4 planning a trip to Seoul mid June

We have six full days

Thinking mostly Seoul and its sights and Maybe a side trip of 1 night to Gyeongjua; Is it possible? Should we just stick to Seoul?

Can we fit in a day trip to Seoraksan national park?

In Seoul planning to visit the main palaces and couple of main sights

Not interested in DMZ

Interested in food tour ones of the days

Is this possible in our 6 day trip? Please advise

Hi

I think it is possible, but you might not get much sleep if you don't sleep during the commutes since you want to do so many things, and commute can be stressful and long. If you change your mind and want to stay in seoul, seoul has many options for things to do other than just visiting the main palaces. For example, you could honestly spend the whole day at a place like hongdae which has like small museums in it (ex. ice museum, love museum, trick eye museum).

What is a good central area to stay?

Are Novotel and L7 good options?

Can we fit in a day trip to Seoraksan national park? definitely yes, you can do it in a day.

Or if you want a closer mountain with a bit of a hike, check Bukhansan.

You can do a lot in 6 days already.

Thanks everyone for the useful info

If i do a day trip to Gyeonghu by ktx train whats the cost in dollars for roundtrip? Tried searching but couldnt find the info

Thinking if i should do it on my own or just go with a guided tour operator if the difference in the cost is not much

KTX per person is around 100-110,000W. Since you are a family of four, it's much easier to just travel by one taxi than taking a bus to far away places. You can get in a taxi right away and go all the way to Seokguram Grotto for an additional 30,000W taxi. From there, walk down to Bulguksa on the path.

Then another taxi back to downtown would be 15,000W. There you can see the museum and downtown sights. Stay one night, wake up and check anything you didn't see already or missed.

A taxi back to ctach KTX at Singyeongju station is 15,000W from downtown.

I wouldn't do Gyeongju without an overnight there. Too much to see otherwise in my view. My preference is the Bomum Lake resort, around halfway between Gyeongju and Bulguk Area, and easy pleasant walks with own local attractions. There are many many sites to see but the basic split is Bulguk plus Seokguram as one centre and Anapji plus Seokbinggo plus Cheomsongdae plus Tumuli Park plus museum as the other centre. If you had time, Yangdong and Poseokjong and the Namsan temples would be good. .
