Gyeongpo beach worth a visit? Or?

I’m in Seoul for a few days at the end of August, and was thinking of spending two nights to elsewhere in Korea.

Given the time of year, the beach sounds appealing, and so I was considering Gyeongpo.

Seems a good balance of nice and convenient to Seoul, and a different.

Just wondered people's advice - would this be recommended? Or would you suggest somewhere else?

Also, I read beaches start to close around this time? Will this be a problem? Can a beach really be closed, or can you still swim?

FIrst time in Korea BTW

Eurwangni Beach and Wangsan Beach are very close from Incheon Airport.

I think beaches will open until the end of August.

Korean beaches really do close. Particularly, in summer time - the water closes at 6 PM. They ask everyone to get ouf of the water. And then the lifeguards go around and pester people who get back in the water...they do it on jet skis, on foot from the beach. It's kind of funny and ridiculous at the same time. People do stay on the beach itself until sunrise, but don't go in the water. And they pull up the umbrellas and all the sand chairs etc. at 6 PM too.

That's fine if they close it at night -- just wasn't clear to me if it was completely closed (even during the day) towards the end of Aug.

Heard the East coast beaches are nicer.. hence Gyeongpo.

Or should I just go to Busan?
