Hi all - interested to know whether you would recommend travelling in Sri Lanka this February (2022) - is the curfew still in place? what are the restrictions like with masks etc? Thank you for your help!
Search forum. If you can manage wearing masks outdoors on the street (but not beach/pool) too, no problem at all. No curfews.

Covid cases in Sri Lanka are low and stable for now. Masks are mandatory in all public places including in vehicles. However, enforcement is not strict, especially on tourists, most of who seem to blatantly disregard the mask rules.
Yes the mask rules even seem to be violated as soon as some tourists disembark at the airport.
Wonder why airport security is not allowed to immediately send those back (refuse immigration) who upon request don't put the mask back on...

Most locals really resent the different treatment that tourists are receiving, but simply bite their lips and look the other way considering the dollars they are pumping into the economy, critical at this point. As long as the covid counts remain low and stable, everything should be fine.
